spacer.gif is downloaded instead of photo

I am using Chrome/Windows 10. The download function used to work fine, but the past few months I mostly get spacer.gif instead of the photo. Sometimes I get the photo, but mostly not. example: http://www.colinknightimages.com/Blog-slideshows/2016/Hen-of-the-woods-Magpies-and/i-8krpxwx/A
I am always logged in when this happens.
