Lightroom & SmugMug Publish Plugin
Hi,
Don't know if this is the right place to ask this. If not please point me in the right direction.
I am in the process of updating my SmugMug galleries after a long absence. The problem I am having is that the plugin is moving previously published images into the "Modified Photos to Re-Publish" section of the plugin in LR even though I have not made any changes to those images. It has happened several times in different galleries and several times in the same galleries. I don't know if this is a LR issue or a plugin issue.
This is a problem for me because where I am currently residing the internet upload speed is very slow(512 kb/s) and it becomes very time consuming to re-upload images that I have not made any changes to.
Working with Lightroom CC on a MacBook Pro. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken

If you have made and changes to the caption, geo location, keywords, or title the system will mark photos to be republished. Those re-publishing triggers can be customized on the plugin settings screen. Here is a screenshot showing where to make the changes.

Please try making those changes and see if that helps.

Additionally, you can always select all the photos, right click on them, and choose "Mark as Up to Date" and they will be removed as needing to be updated.

I too have found cases where old photos -- usually ones posted under an earlier update version of LR -- got marked to be republished when I touched other photos in a gallery. Leftquark's suggestion of using the "Mark as Up to Date" sometimes works, but occasionally I have to do it more than once. LR can keep re-flagging the photo to be republished. I've also found for these older images that when I make a metadata change like updating the keyword list, LR will want to re-publish the whole image rather than just update the metadata. It's not been quite annoying enough for me to work through a full diagnosis, but it looks like some sort of LR bad behavior to me. (From off-line discussions with SmugMug's plug-in developer a while back, I gather, LR code, not the plug-in code, decides what needs republishing.)
You are correct! However, if you note anything weird going on, you can always pass along to us so we can bring it up when we have our own discussions with Adobe's team.

Next time I run into this, I'll pass along the case study for you folks to work with.
