iOS app: upload directly to SmugMug from SD card adapter

For backup and photo sharing while traveling, I'd like to upload directly to SmugMug from an SD card connected with an iPhone SD card adapter. This avoids using phone storage space. The native photos app recognizes the adapter and offers to import to the phone. The SmugMug app doesn't offer that, much less direct upload.

Is this possible?

    I am very sorry but that is not possible at this time. We really appreciate getting suggestions and comments from our users.     Hi pt99,
    I spoke with our iOS developers and we dug into this for you. Unfortunately Apple does not allow third party developers like ourselves access to import files from an SD card. You'll first have to import them to the Camera Roll, and then can upload them to SmugMug from there.
