Resizing my pics

Hi everybody

I am a newbie to smug mug, and although lucky enough to have a digi SLR I am unlucky to havea slowish computer. I have 3mb - 8mb images that I want to upload onto my brand new 10 minute old smug mug site (yes!) but its taking about 3 - 4 mins an image.

Is there a quick way of reducing the size of your chosen images all at once? i am resizing them one by one in photoshop elements and its taking me ages!

Also, would your smug mug account slow down the more images you load onto it?

What sort of internet connection do you have?

Does PS Elements have a batch capability? You could take your images and batch resize them to say, 1280px on the longest side.

Your SmugMug account will not get slower with more images uploaded.

I have broadband, but its more of a country lane than an internet highway connection. I'll tinker around and with the batch idea, thanks mate!

Remember, If you have cable or DSL, you're probably thrilled with the speed. What you're seeing, however, is great speed one way: from the Internet to your computer. Most cable and DSL connections are much slower the other way. In fact, most cable and DSL connections are barely twice as fast as standard modems when uploading, not dozens of times faster like you may think. If you were to upload your photos from work, where your company has a T1 line or better, you would see blindingly fast uploads.

I think you're onto a winner there Andy, I'll take my pics in and do it there. You're right by the way, there is a batch processing mode on PS elements.
