Wonderful journey and story!
Love your image and pullback image shots at Godafoss. Made me laugh.

oh yikes! The pullback shots from Godafoss...
When I visited there a few years back I went in September, and I don't remember anywhere near the people pollution in that area. I wonder if it's a month of year issue or if the number of visitors to Iceland has gone up so much that it's always super crowded.

Denise, so tourism in Iceland has just exploded in the last 5 years or so. In 2010 Iceland had about 500K visitors. In 2016 they had 1.8 million. The population of Iceland is about 300K in contrast. Also september is the transition to the off season as well...but yeah, stuff around Reykjiavik was crazy. If you get a few hours outside of "touristy" parts it still felt relatively isolated.

That makes sense. I just checked the date on my Iceland gallery and I was there in 2010. I've been feeling a need to go back, guess I'd better stay away from the prime summer travel season.

I need to go back as well..that place was impossibly beautiful. I didn't go tot he NW peninsula or see any northern lights. In some ways I felt spoiled..how could any other place be as pretty? sigh

OMG! How'd you like to wake up every day and see that waterfall in your backyard as in No. 3 above?
