A lovely scene capturedd with your usual skill.

I hope you knee continues to improve. Do you plan to continue riding your Gold Wing?

If I had processed this image, I think I would have tried for a darker, more saturated water surface and and a darker mountain side as well, and shifted the foliage a little darker and less yellow green. But maybe I just prefer darker, less high key images.ne_nau.gif

Thanks for the comments, Path. I'll have to check the shot on my normal computer. I am working on my notebook so I can sit with my legs up so the color settings may not be exactly the same. I tend to like dark as well when I post process.

Knee is doing fine and I will be on the Gold Wind for the Run For The Wall in May which will be 7,500 miles for just that trip. I probably won't get back on it for at least two month to give the knee adequate time before really stressing it.

I'm planning on hitting both the Grand Canyon and the Zion National Park on the way out for the Run For The Wall - regretfully before everyone else will be getting to Zion. :cry

I like the darker one better Dixie but it seems to have gotten blurier in the process. It's a beautiful landscape. Glad to hear you are recovering well.

    Cheers,

Erich, I was lazy and just darken the one I had already framed and reduced in size so I lost some quality. I did, however, reprocess the full-size original - no shortcuts there. :D

    Hey DS,

I used both the nik Color Efex Pro Brilliance/Warmth Filter along with the nik Lighten/Darken Center Filter for the start and then added about 12 points worth of Saturation to the master using PSCS2 Hue/Saturation tool, and then increased brightness/contrast slightly (maybe 3-5 points each).

BTW, I don't call them improvements - just different treatments. Some treatments work better than others so I just play around until I get what I like. None are really good/better or bad/worse as that is all in the eye of the beholder - what looks good to one may look bad to another.

    Winger,

The Grand Teton/Yellowstone combo is hard to beat for diversity. Try to get to the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone, MT as well. It's well worth the entrance fee which goes to a good cause and with some careful framing you can get some winner wildlife shots up close of grizzlies and wolves.

Outside of Yellowstone there is the Chief Joseph and Beartooth drives - really great photo ops with both.

The problem with the area is that there is so much to shoot and so little time.
