Aloha Dgrinners! It's been quite a while since I've posted here, as I've been slammed with work this year. October is usually our slow month, and it was, but that just means I wasn't shooting, leaving me to the task of playing catch-up. Finally, at the end of the. month, I could afford the time to get over to the big island for 3 nights. I'm so glad we took the trip!!!
The photos below are what I have to share from the journey, hope y'all enjoy them. Mahalo for viewing

Your photos make me realize that it's been too long since I visited the Big Island!
Love this set, # 1 and 2 are my favorites.

Yes! Get back out there and visit Pele to see what she's been creating since you've been away
Photo #1 is a 3 image HDR shot on a Canon 7D mk II + Tokina 11-16 f/2.8
Photo #2 is a 14 image pano merge (think jigsaw puzzle), shot on a DJI Phantom 4
Great series of the big island. These make me miss the islands - for years it was our annual trek to paradise. I think my favorites are the lava shots #4 and #5.

4 & 5 are powerful, very intimidating. Amazing to see the contrast with the serene beautiful and the violent lava.
Number #4 for me is a plain wow, not only for its colors. It looks very dangerous, yet I'm tempted to touch it.
My favourite is #8 tho, because in this black & white photo my imagination tricked me into believing it is a sinkhole in the sea at first, before I realised it wasn't.
Well captured!

1 and #4 are best for me. For #1, if mine I would go bit tighter on crop and lose the tree on the right edge and clone out the fence. Cheers JBR!
Vind nr 4 erg goed en mooi.
grt,boco.
Mahalo Taz, I'll try that. I kinda like the fence for size perspective, but might be perfect if removed. And yes, that pesky tree...that's the trouble with night photography...you just really never know for sure until you're looking on a bright screen. lol
Mahalo, Boco, glad you like this image! It seems to get the most positive feedback from all viewers
Those lava shots are fantastic.

Mahalo to you both for taking time to view and comment!
Hello @JonaBeth Russell,
What a fantastic experience it must have been for you! The photos are gorgeous!
I was in Kauai at the end of last year. Hawaii is really a place to see at least once in a lifetime.

Great series. I really like the lava shots - very very impressed by the images and the heat and radiation they present to the viewer. Wow!!
