I am wondering if there is any way to have a clean simple title under a Thumbnail or Photo and not that semi-transparent bar at the bottom.

I don't see any titles on your thumbnails - but perhaps I am not looking in the right place on your site.

You can set the placement of the title by customizing All Folders or All Galleries. You can also set the placement of the title by customizing the characteristics of the gallery style.

Customize All Folders or All Galleries

Here's an example of how to do this from my site. I opened the page for a folder. Then I requested Customize... Content and Design. I hovered over the page content. The page I opened contained only galleries, so when I hover I see an empty box for folders and a populated box for galleries:

I clicked the wrench in the section over the galleries. (You may want to do this for both folders and galleries.)
Click the display tab of the box that appears and change the Info Style as desired.

Customize the characteristics of the gallery style

    Open a gallery.
    Customize... Content and Design
Hover over the gallery contents and click the wrench icon.

Select the gallery style you want to change

Change the Info Style as desired.
