Key Word slideshow?

I haven't been here in a good while and have forgotten all I once new about slideshows!
Is it possible to embed a key word or catagory based slideshow on another webpage?
I can see the option to embed a gallery slide show but I'm looking for something with a wider selection.

I haven't tried this but I think it should work.

Create a new gallery to be used for your embedded slideshow. It can be unlisted since you will be referencing it explicitly. Do not load any photos, instead create a smart rule that specifies the keyword you want to use. Use this gallery in your embedded slideshow.
