The wife and I are planning on driving to the shoot out, but we aren't sure
what car we're going to take, or what time of day we'll arrive.

We will be in a Subaru Forester or a Dodge Grand Caravan.

If we're in the Subaru, I don't think anyone will want to ride with us. The
backseat is really small. (I'm 6-2, the seat goes all the way back)
If we're in the Caravan, after we're there and meetup with everyone,
I'm sure we could take 2 or 3 more with us.

The van's been acting up lately, so it's tough to say which one it will be.
The plan is to take the Caravan, but it not a sure thing.

Wish I could be more help, but for right now, this is the best I can do.
    dave.

    Dragon,

I would love a ride to the canyons and back to Vegas. I'll be flying in from Dallas on May 16, probably staying at the Luxor and flying back out on May 21. It's just me, a lrg. duffle and camera backpack.

    TIA!!!!!

    Hi everyone
I will be needing to share a ride to/from Vegas and around the parks. I will make sure I am in Vegas by the 16th and at or near the Luxor. I will pack as light as possible - a small case of clothes and a backpack of gear.

    Update.

I have room for 1 possibly 2 more people so far my car will include:
    CWPhotos
    Bob Bell
    nwilkens
    Ann McRae

As a recap, I will be renting either a minivan or possibly a ford expedition, I'll be flying into vegas on the 16th, leaving the 17th for the parks with everyone else, going back to vegas and flying out the 21st.

Figured I'd bump the thread as we are getting close and it hasn't been active bumped for awhile. Just about a month and a half left before the trip.

Oh and I got the minivan eek7.gif.

With the rising prices of gasoline, the misery van stays home. 14-16mpg isn't going to cut it for 3,500 miles of driving.

I was watching the gasoline futures pricing and they were saying $3.00 at the pump is just around the corner. It's already in the $2.50 range here in Phoenix.

Wow that's low! We're $2.80 at the cheap stations here, with a 2-3¢ rise per day.

Unleaded is $2.68 here in Indiana, just down the road from the Marathon refinery.

I figure my fuel expense for the trip in May will be between $600-$700. But airfares rise with fuel prices also, don't they?

My Van is full at least on the way from vegas to to the parks and back. Once we are in the parks I may be able to fit one or two more people in when we are going from location to location as we won't have all the luggage in at that point.

    Riding with me is:

    Bob Bell
    nwilkens
    Ann McRae

Hmmmmm, so I live in Alberta. We grow oil here. We get rebates from oil revenue from our government. And we pay, as of yesterday, $1.05cdn a litre for gasoline. So, multiply by 3 to get gallons and then by 1.15 for conversion and you get what appears to be world price for gasoline. Yuck! I think my next car will be a hybrid!
