I am new to Smugmug so be patient as I continue building my site. I am new to this forum but hope to share my passion with the rest of you. Here is a photo I shot just last October at Picture Lake at Mt. Shuksan in the North Cascades of WA State. It's the most photographed lake in Northern America and only a couple of hours drive from my home and no I dont shoot digital.

Cheers!

Beautiful landscape. The copy right notice is pretty distracting though. You may also get more feedback over in the Field&Street forum.

That copyright notice is hardly necessary. Something a bit smaller is sufficient.

The scene looks nice. Why aren't you digital!? :D

That sure is a beautiful photo.

Have you had a lot of photos stolen from you?

I checked your smugmug gallery and was surprised when I clicked on the image to get the ORIGINAL photo -- without a copyright or proof on it.

Are you aware that a determined person could copy your photo and make a print of it for their own use?

If you are really concerned about photo theft, I'd suggest posting 800 x 600 images as your "original" size with the copyright on it. Then at least you would create a lot more work for a determined thief. They'd have to go into photoshop to try to remove your copyright, and then try to find an upsizing program to get a decent print.

The only time I post anything close to an original size image on the web is if I can password the gallery or album.

It's amazing to me how "blurry" the scanned image appears from your photo/negative at the original size. I've been so spoiled by digital for the last 6 years. It wasn't until I took a film and digital photo from the same spot that I became aware of how sharp digital was.

In any case, I look forward to seeing more of your photos. You have access to some amazing scenery!
