    I don't do video much, but I like capable tools. I started using Resolve a few years ago trying to fix awful colors from really old sVHS conversions (on bad conversion devices as they are hard to find).

    It's an incredibly impressive tool. It is not for the technically-faint-of-heart, it's got a manual that if printed probably needs a hand truck, but it runs surprisingly well on modest systems (modest by video processor criteria) and you can't beat the price.

    I did nearly 60 videos (simple documentary) last year using Resolve for color touchup, final sharpen and render to 720p30 (from 1080p24 master). For sharpening alone it is unmatched, by my tests.

    Since version 14 it is fairly competent for nearly every aspect of video production, but version 15 is looking extremely nice indeed.
