second Smugmug site in my account

I want to create a completely separate smugmug web site with its own customized domain. How can I add a second site to my existing account, using the same email address to log in?

A SmugMug account can only have one custom domain attached to it.

You can create a separate folder and then point a second domain to redirect to that folder, but the URL would change to the first site's URL after the first click.

Otherwise you'll need to have 2 accounts.

Hopefully one of the SmugMug support heroes will pop in here.

But - given that logging in with your email address gives you access to a single account page with a space to enter a single site URL and a single custom domain, I believe that you will need to use a second email address for your second site.

There can only be one email address per account.
If you have a second SmugMug account, you will want to use a different email address for that account.

One thing that you can do is use the "+SOMETHING" in your email address. Most email clients ignore the "+" but it does separate the email address.

For example: "leftquark+account1@foo.com" and "leftquark+account2@foo.com" both go to "leftquark@foo.com" but would be 2 unique email addresses as far as SmugMug is concerned.

Thanks Aaron - I didn't know about this, very interesting.

This information might be a good addition to the help page.

I know that gmail also ignores dots (.) in a name so firstlast@gmail.com and first.last@gmail.com are the same address. Would this also work as a second email address for smug?
