It was close to 100 degrees in Central California, but 64 degrees on the northern coast (Arcata), This was a typical day here with a fog bank awaiting entry into Humbolt Bay and the usual cloud cover high overhead. But this marsh area didn't need sunshine to be in its glory.

Thank all. I didn't run into any snakes, mosquitoes, or other hated critters - just some interesting cattle, birds, and some strange humans (Arcata - the pot capital/college town of California).
