How to download whole gallery of watermarked images in new SmugMug

I used to be able to download my watermarked images in Legacy SmugMug, and am trying to figure out how to do it again now. Since the "Publish to FaceBook" option isn't working now, I wanted to download my watermarked gallery to my computer, then upload to FB. In the gallery I'd currently like to download, I purposely set it (for now) to display "All but Originals", set RCP to "Off", set Download button to "On". The photos had been watermarked individually (via SmugMug-- not prior to uploading, but about a week ago).

However, nothing I try gives me watermarked images. I've tried logging out & having the zip file link sent to a different email than I use for my SmugMug account. Nope-- still getting un-watermarked images that way. Any ideas? There also used to be a way to do this one-by-one, but I can't even find a way to do that, even though it would be cumbersome. Currently, I'd like to download the largest-sized watermarked images possible. There'd be times I'd like to know how to download other sizes.

As the person who decided to remove the Publish to Facebook feature, I'd love to further understand why you upload your photos to SmugMug and then also upload them to Facebook. We're here to solve your workflow painpoints and I'd love to know more about how you share your photos!

I have been able to save watermarked images from my site by doing a right-click save from lightbox.

With right click off you do not have to save photos one at a time.
In lightbox you can change to any of the different sizes, all having a watermark.

I created a new folder on my desktop and opened it.
    Then in lightbox select size.
Drag each photo to the open folder. Use right arrow to advance to next photo in LB
and you can get the whole gallery drug over real quick.

Videos will not drag over, would have to download.

Aww, gosh-- thanks so much, Al & Denise! I'll be using both of these methods! Al-- that's genius, & I'd never have thought of that way of dragging the photos in a million yrs!! I got 'em all downloaded already! I didn't know you could do that. Btw, I did test out your method of posting a photo to FB & it worked well. I just miss the ability to have a bunch of thumbs show up in one FB post if I want to show off a whole gallery.

Aaron, I'll have to get back to you more on your question, because I have a FB post to make. :) But I'll say a bit here as a start. I hardly know where to start, as there are SO many reasons for posting my photos on either SmugMug or FB or both (& I have a FB artist Page as well, so sometimes I post there). I hope other folks will chime in here & tell you all the reasons / situations when they'd choose to publish their SmugMug galleries or photos to FB. One thing is for certain-- many many SmugMug users are already very disappointed in the loss of that feature.

We were so excited when it became easier to publish to FB, & it seems most sites are (& should be) moving in the direction of more & more cross-website sharing, not less. Since FB is still the most popular social media & isn't going away anytime soon, it's rather shocking to me that SmugMug would just suddenly drop the connection &/or decide it's not worth it. In fact, my initial reason for having FB was to draw traffic to my SmugMug & give my friends/family there little previews of what photos were here. In recent yrs when it's been so handy for us to just write captions / watermark once (here on Smug) & publish all or part of galleries to FB, where people could comment on them etc., I've still seen lots of my Smug traffic coming from FB.

Not to start a huge discussion on this again, but one very major issue for many of us here on Smug is the fact that we simply don't get comments anymore, since, for all intents & purposes, that feature has been dead here ever since Smug insists on these very onerous sign-in-to-comment rules. On FB we can enjoy feedback & questions from people, yet we can't count on FB as our main display area for our photos, or for real backup, etc., so SmugMug is still like my art gallery, while FB is more like my magazine cover display rack at the newstand. ;)

I think if you go back reread it was FB that stopped the gallery sharing thing not SM.

Sounded to me like a combo-- FB changed some stuff (again :'( ) ; made it tougher to for SM to qualify or something .... but Aaron's post right here in this thread says, "...as the person who decided to remove the Publish to FaceBook feature..." so I take that & also some earlier statements to mean that we could still have this, but SM would have to expend some extra time & energy to make it happen again.

He removed the "Publish to FaceBook feature" because it did not work anymore only because FB shut it off.

It was a combination of a couple things. About a year and a half ago Facebook removed our ability to link back to your SmugMug site. The post would no longer say “Posted by SmugMug” and we were banned from automatically providing a link to your SM site. Essentially they’d let us send you’re photos to SM but we couldn’t drive traffic back to it. A few months ago FB announced they were deprecating the method we used to push photos to FB and we had to upgrade and get new approval to post. We applied for new approval but their process became extremely cumbersome; I used this as a chance to re-evaluate if the Publish to FB feature was still useful. The stats spoke for themselves: only an extremely small number of SM’ers were still using it. When I started to dive in to why those small # of people used it, I heard a lot of things like what @WinsomeWorks said: “I want to post on FB but drive traffic back to SM.” Unfortunately that change they made 1.5 years ago meant traffic wasn’t going back to SM. Our customers instead started sharing a link to their SM site to drive the traffic. I can understand that you get more comments on FB then you do on SM, so it was a huge bummer that FB stopped allowing us to link back to your SM site. Had they not changed that, when probably would have kept the feature around.

What I do these days, since I use LR, is have LR export watermarked smaller copies to a folder and then I upload those to FB. It’s slightly more painful because it means I have to upload to SM through LR, then also upload to FB, but it does get the job done.... and I typically only upload a subset of the full set to FB anyways (my friends only have a short attention span and don’t want to see every photo - just the best ones)
