back ground pictures

would like to custom size a back ground pic to get more of the image in. where can that be done. its a portait orientation so it cropped half of it...how can i get it where is can crop less of it

    That's the way it is. Even using a landscape format, it will crop depending on the user's monitor/device.

    You'll need to carefully select background images that work well on desktops (landscape) and phones (portrait). Smugmug will center the background image in the screen and size it so the smaller dimension of the picture fills the larger dimension of the screen. So a portrait oriented image on a wide screen will get the top and bottom chopped off. There's no way to have different backgrounds for different devices, so you may need to do some creative cropping of your backgrounds, or test a bunch on multiple devices and see what works best.

    thank you...yes i noticed on on a iphone it looks perfect....still need to download the smugmug phone app..
    does this app
    allow you to change formatting on iphone looks?
