SM 'statistics' are just crazy numbers

I've had a site for a couple of months now, and my 'statistics' show thousands of views - which are definitely not happening (Google Analytics shows me the truth). Maybe SM has no filtering of search bots, and that could be a lot of it, but here's no way the indexers are hitting my pages hundreds of times a day. What's causing these crazy numbers?
