Problem with display of full-screen slideshow on iPad.
The full-screen slideshow displays images improperly in Safari on both the 11” and 10.5” iPad Pro in landscape orientation (portrait orientation works correctly).
The static full-screen image displays as expected:
However, invoking the full-screen slideshow incorrectly displays the size of the image. In fact, it seems that landscape-aspect images are displayed at the correct size for viewing in a portrait-oriented viewport (and portrait-oriented images are rendered in the expected size for a landscape-oriented viewport):
This condition persists among multiple Smugmug sites and multiple iPad Pros of the 10.5” and 11” variety. (Haven’t tested on other iPad versions.) Also, note the two ‘close’ buttons (X), one in each upper corner of the display. Is anyone else seeing this? Is this a known bug?

This is a known issue that is planned to be fixed as part of the new Lightbox that we're working on.

Thank you for the quick reply. From what I gather, it’s seems the new lightbox won’t be deployed for several more months. In the meantime, is there any code, CSS or otherwise, that I can employ as a stopgap to properly display my images in the fullscreen slideshow on the indictated iPads? It’s rather embarrassing to have my photos exhibited this way on my website.
(Also, I should mention that I specifically purchased my own 11” iPad to run the fullscreen slideshow for people using either the web or the Smugmug app, which is clearly not optimized for the 11” iPad even for static fullscreen image display, let alone the slideshow. So, both options available to me are suboptimal.)
Thanks,
~ Dave

Just downloaded the iPad app update and everything looks phenomenal on the 11” iPad Pro. Thanks, it was worth the wait. Looking forward to the fix for the website fullscreen-slideshow in mobile Safari so my site visitors can also have a great viewing experience. Hope it’s coming soon!

Glad you're enjoying the iOS update (fwiw, I was also eagerly awaiting that update. I don't normally put our beta builds on my personal iPad but I got so ansy to have full support for the iPad Pro that I risked putting a beta build :P)
The slideshow update is in the works. I'd like to say we'll ship it by the end of April but it's part of the larger effort to revamp the Lightbox, and every big project requires extra attention. Coming soon though!
