US Fish and Wildlife officer checking a hunter's license and weapon.
Not too sure what happened but as I was walking about this morning, two
hunters passed on bikes. Just as they were about back to the car, the game
warden popped out and started asking questions. I think this guy just got
cited for not having a plugged shotgun (you must install a plug that allows
no more than three shells to fit in the shotgun). His friend was briefly
questioned and let go (no weapon, no ducks).
Parts of the Baylands preserve are open to hunting and fishing. Hunting is
limited to ducks and maybe geese. Hunters travel the levees on bikes carrying
all that's required for the hunt.

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
I could be out walking (ha, ha, ha!) and see men on bicycles carrying RIFLES!??? Oh my, I'm so glad you warned me because I'm sure I would have been tempted to report this to the police as suspicious activity.
I hope there are signs before one goes out on the levees...

Do that around here & the cops will shoot you where you stand. Sort of zero tolerance for a weapon in public.
The area is (and has been for many years) a waterfowl hunting area and
there are huge signs warning that hunters are in the area during hunting
season. I guess the hunters are reasonably segragated from the bird
watchers. But I usually don't go down that way
I think if you were walking anyplace else in town, you'd be dropped were
you stood.
