Waterwheel

So... last summer, for the first time in my life I took part in an all-day photo workshop. It was an interesting day, made extra-challenging because the weather was extra lousy. When it wasn't pouring down rain, it was just plain ugly outside. Ugh. One of the subjects in the afternoon was a waterwheel, where I did some experimenting with f-stop/shutter speed combinations.
Here are a few of the MANY shots I took - I'd love to have feedback about why one or the other is interesting or not.

For me, #1 is the most interesting; the blurred motion doesn't obscure the objects. I like #4 also but as an interesting abstract.

I also like # 1.

The last one makes me dizzy, but I like the first two equally, and #3 as well.
Good experiments, but I wouldn't have been able to tell it is a water wheel if not for description. The last one had the best chance to convey it, but speed was bit too slow for that one.
@WernerG, @denisegoldberg , @Richard: Werner, Denise and Richard, thanks for commenting. Richard, I'm so sorry #4 makes you dizzy! #3 made me think of @Juano aka Mr. Blur
@Stumblebum Taz, thanks for commenting! Hm... it's interesting to hear that you didn't realize it was a waterwheel - it shows how when we know something, we assume others know it as well... I know what you mean about that last picture. In the shots where the motion was faster, the background was too in focus, and therefore distracting (and not to mention ugly).
Really cool and different. I especially like the first two.
I like 1 the best, I like the lines that the water creates.

I like them in reverse order. Idiosyncratic, but that's my taste. Nice work.

@Eia , @Juano , @Cornflake AnnaMaria, Cristóbal & Don, thanks for taking the time to comment. Since this is rather new territory for me feedback is really important.
