Mammillaria carmenae: 2 Colour Forms

This is one of the sought-after cacti, all the more so for its form rubrispina with the reddish spines. The form and/or colours of spines within a species of cactus is not unusual but here we have different colours of the flowers too.

The red form is not natural but the result of selective breeding in Holland. It flowers are sometimes pale pink.

I suppose I should have removed the fine silk webbing of the red on but it adds to the stereo experience. :)

The stereos are crosseye. Not my best stereos for perspective but better than single frame.

Olympus EM-1, (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, 1/250 at f11, ISO 320, hand-held.
