I have been cultivating cacti for nearly 60 years and seeing this was a huge surprise. I had to have one in my collection, which is where this flowered in recent days.

This, which I don't have, is one of its parents:

Hybrid 'Stern von Lorsch':

'Stern von Hemsbach'

Hybrid code number VR.06.41.89, it is is a cross between A22 Tauris x Arg 9 (Argentinian Natural Hybrid No. 9).
F1 generation from (Stern von Lorsch x Lobivia densispina var. rebutioides) x (Stern von Lorsch x Lobivia densispina var. rebutioides).

If the abpve is unclear to you, you are not alone. Anyway, it is all about Echinopsis.

Olympus EM-1, (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f8, f11 or f13, hand-held.

The stereos are crosseye.
