Echinopsis kermesina

Having shown what a very much hybridised Echinopsis "Razzzle Dazzle" looks like, I thought I would show that a species can be quite impressive too. This was opens for only one day this week.

I used some wider apertures than usual as an experiment, f5.6 being the widest others at f10 or f8. I used stopped down preview for DOF but I don't think I will continue with this discipline.

Olympus EM-1, (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f8, hand-held.

The stereos are crosseye.

I have reduced to brightness in these images to show the full range of shades of colour.

    El Gato,

    Thanks.

I have been waiting for a new one to open but it has been only partly open for 3 days!
