I recently obtained some grafted individuals of this delightful, miniature species, which was described (as a Borzicatus species) only in 2013.

To my surprise, two of them had each developed a flower bud, coloured up, in the post. One of those soon aborted but the other developed fully and I was able to document it, over 3 days, with images.

The flower was never thicker than a pencil. I love the way the yellow parts give the false impression of back-lighting.

This is another genus which some taxonomists include in Cleistocatus.

Olympus EM-1, (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f 56. (first two) or f8, hand-held.

The stereos are crosseye.
