Blue Strawberry Blues

In 2017 I purchased some strawberry seeds from a seller on Ebay. They were listed as "Blue Strawberry Seeds" and the image of the fruit was distinctly blue.

The seeds were not sown until 2018 and the plants have been flowering recently. After considerably anticipation, the fruits were very much a strawberry red.

They very similar to the wild form of the Alpine Strawberry Fragaria vesca, except for the flower colour.

However they are probably Potentilla indica

That makes them yellow (flowers) not blue (fruit).

So, what do they taste like? Dry, with very little juice and not flavour, very gritty due to a huge number of seeds. the fruit is of similar size to the European wild species.

There are many types of plants in garish colours offered for sale, some flowers with alternate colours of petals. These are all Chinese faked images produced by Photoshop, or a fake version of it. The plants are not biologically possible.

Olympus EM-1, (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f9 or f10, hand-held.

The stereos are crosseye.

This is the image used in the listing. Not only is the colour fake but the fruit is a typical strawberry, not the fruit I have illustrated above.
