I was with a group of enthusiasts, surveying the fungus flora of Newtown Common on Sunday when someone brought my attention to these. They have two commonly-used names: Red-legged Shield-bug and Forest Shield-bug.

Overhanging leaves meant that I couldn't get all of the tips of appendages in the frame.

Olympus EM-1 (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 x2 TC, Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro 1/100 at, f11, hand-held.

The stereo is crosseye.
