There are a number of shield-bugs with a similar type of pattern on their thorax and winds. This one is rather subdued. It was found, and shown to me, on Newtown Common on 4 August. It was on a dead, partly curled-up leaf.
Olympus EM-1 (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 x2 TC, Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, 1/100 at f8, hand-held.
