It is currently owned by the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. I have heard that there is a desire for a land transfer (noted in the wikipedia article linked below).

The house was supposedly built by a husband as a part of a divorce agreement. She wanted a house just like the one she grew up in and he obliged. But he built it intentionally so it would be unusable. No one knows if this is true. It sits in the middle of some protected wnds and the state thought of tearing down. After protests, they let it stay. I have no idea if it is maintained.
