I mistook this for a Mint Moth, which I see frequently in our garden. However, it is a species which I have not noticed before. It has been recorded where I found it, at Decoy Heath. I don’t know details of previous finds but this was near Pond 3 on 11 July. The most recent record had been in 2017.

The moth is about thumbnail size. It was feeding on heather flowers. The larvae feed on thymes and related plants.

The stereo is crosseye.
