Pluggin for Lightroom 6

I set up a new gallery in my Smugmug site then tried syncing with the lightroom pluggin. It is now taking ages (40mins so far) to sync. It used to be very quick. Seems since I started using the android back up it has slowed down. Lightroom message is "syncing heirarchy and media"
Is there a way to speed up syncing by avoiding the android backup if this may be the problem?

Doing a "Publish" shouldn't require syncing with your android backup. Did you do an actual full sync of the folders/hierarchy/photos or were you just publishing the new photos?

I had created a new gallery in smugmug and wanted it to show up in lightroom so I could add photos to it.

Typically I avoid doing a "Sync Photos" if I'm just trying to pull in the new gallery. If you just do "Sync Folders and Galleries" it'll be quick and pull in your new gallery.
Another trick: if the folder containing your new gallery already appears in Lightroom, right click on teh folder and choose "Edit Folder". There will be a check-box for "Sync Folders & Galleries". Check it, and click "Edit" and we'll sync just the items in that folder (not your entire site). That'll be even quicker.
