These images are from 24 August 2017, a Warburg Nature Reserve. They should have been uploaded in 2017.
These were under trees, to the right of the path as I walked from the car park and towards the meadow area. The species reaches a height of 30cm (1 foot) but I think these were no more than about half that but still an impressive sight. They look like Ascomycetes but are Basidiomycetes.
They were dimly lit, under the shade of trees, obliging me to use flash at f14, except for the widest view, where I used 1/6 sec at f8.
The spotted individual in the foreground of the second and third images is a Magpie Inkcap.

I have seen hundreds of species, over several decades, but it was quite a surprise.
