I found this on a fern on the edge of an area of heathland at Padworth Common Nature Reserve on 9 September.

Thanks to Brian for pointing out (PM) my initial ID was incorrect. The golden hairs on the thorax indicate that it emerged recently.

Cluster larvae are parasites of earthworms

Olympus EM-1 (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 x2 TC, Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, 1/250 at f10 ISO 1000, hand-held.
