Customizing menu and submenu

Two questions re customizing a horizontal menu with submenu...
When the viewport gets small enough so that the 1st level menu wraps to a new line, the vertical distance between the two menu rows is too small for my taste. Is there a way to enlarge the vertical distance when the wrap occurs?
I know how to choose the folder items so that the folders/galleries are in the order I want, but it doesn't change the order of the items in the sub-menu to match the order I have chosen. Can one order the items in the submenu? ("July-Aug: Costa Rica" is a folder, not a gallery, so it is sorting toward the bottom, but I'd like to sort it where it belongs in date order)

@Hikin' Mike: My SM site is a family photo site, and some members of my family have a thing about not exposing their info (via the EXIF info) outside the family. The page in question, the home page, is a folder with subfolders, etc. Is there a way to give you access to that top level page without exposing the entire site? (Alternatively, I think my family would be fine with a private message link...that's different than posting a link on the SM forum.)
The more I re-read this, the more I pretty sure neither is possible. You can PM me if you'd like, but I don't think I can help.
There is no way that I know of to increase the margins WHEN THE WRAP OCCURS. It's either all or nothing.
Sounds like a bug?
