MINI-CHALLENGE #295: The Back Side

edited February 2, 2020 in The Dgrin Challenges

This mini should show people unidentifiable with facial recognition technology doing people things in a nice setting. Lots of different examples below.
Bonus points if you make me laugh!

This mini will stay open until Sunday, February 2, at 12:00pm (UTC-5).
EDIT: This mini will stay open until Monday, February 3, at 12:00pm (UTC-5).

It's all a walk on the beach, right?!

1. Have fun sharing and seeing what others share!
2. The host supplies a topic and you post 1-3 images. The host judges the winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd) and is not eligible to enter.
The 1st place winner then chooses the next topic, judges the winner and then passes on the baton to the new champion.
3. Any photo you’ve taken is eligible, regardless of when taken or camera used.
4. Any amount of post-processing is allowed. However, it is helpful if you list your camera and lens along with your photo.
You may comment on other contestant's images. If you want someone to leave you some critique or criticism, just ask within your post.
5. The winner has up to three days (72 hours) to begin a new mini-challenge, or the honor goes to the #2 finisher and so forth.
1. Enter 1-3 photos and put them in a single post.
2. Either embed your image in the thread or, if you must, supply a link to it. Keep in mind, however, most people don't want to click to open photos hosted elsewhere (i.e. on your website).
3. Also try and resize your photos prior to posting so they're sized appropriately for viewing without having to scroll (~800 pixels on the longest side works best.)
4. Give each image you enter a title.
5. Enjoy discussion with members about their images, don't let this just be an entry thread!
6. When quoting a post change the IMG urls to a 200x200 size picture so it is clear your post is feedback and not another entry. (see here for help)
7. Don't be hesitant, share 'em and enter!
Mini-Challenge pointers:
1. Upon winning a mini-challenge round your first step is coming up with a new theme, and start a new thread using the same format as others have used.
2. Make sure to notify the admin of this thread to update the main thread links with your entry thread.
3. Feel free to watch the thread as it grows or wait to the end time and look at all the entries all at once.
4. After the time/date has passed, then officially close the thread with a single post notifying everyone of the fact.
5. After you're finished judging start a new thread (again use the prior formats) and post your Winner and runners-up, it is important to have runners up incase the winner does not show within the 72hr window.
6. PM the winner with this info above and let them know they have 72hrs.
7. After the 72hrs and the winner does not show up, notify the next runner-up and post a message on the Winner thread of the fact.
8. Remember, if you're the Winner, you run the show.

I usually try to avoid having people in my photos, so I really had to hunt for these.
    1. Looking at infinity

    1. Directing the waves

    2. Autumn walk along Brandywine Creek

Oh, and definitely NOT an entry, but rather an attempt to generate laughter, here's an accidental shot...

Well, you did say "backside" Lillian...

All great entries, & all hitting the theme perfectly! Love the accidental shot - yes worth a laugh! And love the quote too (thanks partly to Google Translate!) - Beautiful backs sure can delight!!

There's another full week to enter! Have fun! :)

Great theme! I'm participating, and I even have some recent pics to go along

    1. Typing or sleeping? You decide.

    1. Kung-Fu fighting (I was trying to get a picture of the Bruce Lee statue in Hong Kong, but people kept doing weird things in front of it, so I started taking pictures of people doing weird things in front of the Bruce Lee statue)

    1. Papers please - I guess this one won't make you laugh, but I also guess that face recognition tech would have a hard time on this one.

Hello Everyone. I'm a new person here who is looking forward to posting some photos in the challenges. If I am lucky enough to be granted picture access by Feb. 2, I shall participate. If later, maybe the next one.

Finally got the time to sort through and find a few entry candidates - coincidentally all taken during bicycle trips to France.

    1) What's the catch? In a costal town in southern Brittany, these three boys were tossing their net over and waiting for it to fill with little fish (sardines, I think), which they expertly gutted and filleted on the cement wall of the pier.

    2) Freedom On a warm afternoon in Bordeaux, the "Miroir d'eau" is filled with people of all ages playing in the water.

    3) Evening serenade We were sitting on the terrace of a nearby restaurant and I popped on the long zoom to snap this.

This one's not for consideration but for a chuckle (I couldn't get the whole lion in because people kept walking into the frame.)

Hello everyone. I'm happy to participate in my first mini-challenge.

    1) Sunset on the Mediterranean.

    2) Cycling up Fremont Pass in Colorado a few years ago.

    3) You don't always know if another photographer is using you as a subject.

(Now to see if the images post.)

These are all fabulous entries! Welcome to the minis @Third_Son and @Lab_Tested - great to have you both and excellent entries! And thanks for the chuckle Sara!

On another note, I'm going to extend the end of this mini 24 hours, until Monday at noon - I hope that's okay. Ended up scheduling a headshot tomorrow afternoon, then the Super Bowl (GO CHIEFS!!!), just finished year end tax reports (am a bookkeeper in another life lol), I need a bit of time to regroup. That will also give me some time to jot notes to help with judging. :)

SO MANY GREAT ENTRIES! There's still another day & a half to enter!

    2) Sunset Safari (taken with cell phone)
