How can I get my background photo to fit on my home page?

I want to have a background photo for my home page. I uploaded a large file, expecting that the image would be resized to fit the page. It's not. I would have thought that that would be something users would want and it would not be hard to do. Is there a way to do it?

Ever try to put an 8x10 picture in a 8x12 frame? How about trying to put a 8x12 picture in a 8x10 frame WITHOUT cropping?
Same thing with using a picture as a background. Something has to give.

You can see on my site (www.aaronmphotography.com) that I use background images that fill the screen. In the Customizer just look for the “Background” tab and select a gallery or photos you want to use. You’ll need to be aware that since screen sizes vary, the photo may have parts of it “cropped” off if the browser window doesn’t match the dimensions of the photo (which is usually the case).
