I have several sets of these from Thomas Distributing for my Sunpak flashes. They last a long time and charge quickly with this charger.
I agree with Tristan as I use the same thing in my Canon Powershot S2. I have also had good luck with Kodak 2100 mAh AA NiMHbatteries in my Canon Speedlite 420EX.
At my local Wal-Mart they sell for $10 in a 4 pack or $17 with a slow charger. Using my Canon 420EX flash, I have much faster recycling times and the batteries last about 300 shots.
Ive been using the Powerex batteries and Maha charger for 3-4 years now. I have sets from 1600-2400 and they work great in 550ex and sunpak 383 super. The charger i have is the 204F and I have the car charger as well, has worked really well.
I think when I start replaying my 1600 and 1800 batteries I will buy the 8 slot charger, it looks like a really good unit.

Batterys for 430EX flash
Which batterys and rechanger shall I get, that have 220v plug from BH Photo? I dont know if any of the brands are good. I have not heard about a single one of them. Please help me choose. :-)
Just about any of the NiMH batteries would do the trick.
I bought the cheapest ones I could find from Fry's Electronics and they've
been good to me. I did get one of the "fast" chargers too. The brand is
Lenmar. The batteries are rated at 2000mAh.
Cost less than US$10 for four and the charger.
Moderator Journeys/Sports/Big Picture :: Need some help with dgrin?
what is the differnce between 2300mah and 2700mah batterys? will the flash reload faster with more mah?
As I understand it, nominally about 17% (400/2300) more shots, but longer to completely recharge.
The higher the mAh (milli-amp-hour) rating, the greater the stored capacity, and therefore the greater number of shots per recharge. I'm using 2500mAh UniRoss rechargables in my new 580EX, but it's too soon to say how well this brand will last.

I have used them for the last two years in my daughter's canon a70, in our motorola two way radios, and in portable electronics.

I almost agree, I use these batteries http://www.thomas-distributing.com/maha_2500_rechargeable_batteries.php
, I have 40 of them, and use 2 of these chargers http://www.thomas-distributing.com/maha-mh-c801d-battery-charger.htm. I've been pleased - the vendor "Thomas Distributing" was also a pleasure to deal with.
I use these in 580ex's with Canon CP-E3 packs

Pick the 2700mAh batteries. They will last a bit longer.
Generally speaking, the higher the mAh rating, the longer any battery will
last.

I merged these two threads as they're both asking similar questions.
