I have seen this species only once before, when I got some better images:

There is a very similar, but rare, species Abia aenea.
I saw this one today when photographing various bees on sunlit red flowers of ornamental currant.
Olympus EM-1 (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 x2 TC, Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f11, hand-held.
The stereo is crosseye.
