Boulder in the Moonlight
I've been meaning to take some nighttime landscape photos under the full moon for a few years, and I finally managed to drag myself out early enough last week to make it happen. This was taken just outside of Boulder, Colorado about 45 min before sunrise.
This was the color result after much back-and-forth.
This is what it looks like in B&W.
Exposure was 1 s, 24 mm, f/3.2, ISO 100.
Any thoughts and feedback would be appreciated, as I was struggling with the color in post-processing. There is a fine line in maintaining a sense of the dark shoot while still bringing in some color. I had planned on comparing longer exposures at smaller apertures, but my brain is not fully operational at 5:45 am and such experiments will have to wait for another time.
Also, I may go back and overlay the moon with an image that shows some of the detail, but for now I wanted to see what a single shot could produce.
