Effects of changing to a template

I'm planning to move away from he custom site I have to using a smugmug template (with some customization). Before I do that, I want to understand how this could affect photos I have published in forums, etc. by using the links.

Will changing templates break the links? Will reorganizing with new pages/folders/galleries break the links?

If smugmug publishes guides to any of this, could someone point me to them?

Links to photos will always work. Page links to photos will change.
Notice link is pure photo link. BTW, no reference to YOUR site.

Sorry, but I'm not clear on what you mean by "page links to photos".

The links I use are the ones supplied by smugmug by using the share functionality.

This is what the photo link would be then.
photos.smugmug.com

A page link to a photo would contain your site name, the folder and gallery in the link.
It would point to a specific gallery.

If you select a new template but don't move any of your photos, pages, folders, or galleries, all of your links will stay the same. Changing the template does not change any of the links.

The links will change if I change the organizational structure, correct? And to avoid this, I need to keep the existing structure required for the photos I want to remain published, hiding it if I want?
