There are several similar species.
I had seen this one flying around the grassy parts of my garden, at about my ankle height, on several days. This time, it was crawling down to the base of the grass, seeking its host bee. It was something like 10-12mm long.
Olympus EM-1 (aperture priority), Olympus 4/3 x2 TC, Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, 1/80 or 1/100 at f11 ISO 250, hand-held.
The stereo is crosseye.
