Why can't I embed an image using Wordpress?

I cannot use an embed URL from Smugmug to insert any image in a WP post.

I thought it would be easier to just take screen captures of the errors I get trying to do this...so I created a post on my website showing them and it's just easier for you to read that post to see what the issue is with embeds.

I also have reached out to Smugmug Support to see what they say, I just don't understand why a simple embed isn't working?

Smugmug Support figured out the issue and provided a workaround for Wordpress.

Sorry I was just posting the answer to my website post....

Don’t use the Embed block or the Smugmug Embed block, instead use the Image block and type in the URL of the image (with the size you want to display) and it works perfectly.

No idea why embed doesn’t work correctly but with using the image block and pasting in the URL it does work.

Thanks for the update. I too use WordPress, but I don't embed/share link from SM to my WP. When I post on WP, I just upload via the Media in WP.

I do think WordPress needs a better way to use the SmugMug Block. It's kind of hokey as it is.

I agree it's just patchwork at best sometimes. I have been trying it both ways...uploading to my WP site directly and linking from Smugmug. I wanted to see how it works and to see how BunnyCDN handles the link from SM.
