Corrupt JPEGs?

I have a few jpeg files that refuse to open. All of the file information is reported correctly (file size, image size, etc...) but when I try to open it in a program it tells me that the file format is invalid. I have heard this can happen when the JPEG header gets corrupted. Anyone have any way to fix this? here are links for several files that I know are corrupted, if anyone is able to fix them please let me know, and how you did it! Thanks! (btw, I'm desperate! lol)

Heck I can't even get them downloaded for some reason...
Good luck.
I tried both those options. The image program told me that it could not determine the file type, and when I ran jhead it said Not JPEG: PICT2024.jpg. This occurred both when I tried to strip the header information out, and when I tried to transfer header info from another file.
So basically programs have no idea that these files are actually jpegs! (And they really are! I didn't change the file extensions or anything! Lol. If anyone else has ANY ideas PLEASE let me know! Thanks a bunch!
What created these files?
The files are using the mode in JPEG that is covered by patents (Arithmetic encoding) this is not supported by most software.
They're also using a lot of strange APP tags. (Like for example the file contains the APP FF0C tag, which is marked as 'reserved' by the standard
It may be possible to get it to work by hex editting the files to remove these markers and then adjusting the size properties...
The APP1 Marker includes http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.0/ implying some involvement with Adobe Metadata format at some point.
I'm intrigued. If you can say, where did these files come from?
If you can let me know I might be able to help more
Cheers,
Luke
