I have heard good things about both the Canon and the Sigma 14mm 2.8. Some flaring problems reported with both lenses though.

Psst. The Nikon wide primes are much better. rolleyes1.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    They are.
Not much good to be said about the 14L, I'm afraid. Your only real choice is the 17-40L and the 16-35L in the Canon lineup. My best advice? Go get an Oly 21, or a CZ 18, both can be had at (fairly) reasonable prices. You shoot manual, but I suspect you want this for landscapes, anyhow, so that's easy.

The holy grail is still the CZ 21 f/2.8, but they're $3K --> $4K, depending.

I agree with Andy although some people at FM will say the Leica 19 is much better. I was told how good zuiko is at that focal length.Im not sure just listing very expensive options :)

I have the Canon 20mm and love it on a 1.6x body. Its nearly perfect. On a 1.3 or FF body you see a lot of distortion outside of the sweet spot. I have seen some people tout the 24L for landscapes. Ive never used it.
For zooms, there is an underdog of a zoom out there, then 20-35L. It doesnt suffer the WA distortion influence of the 16/17-35 or 17-40 from 16-20.

Had to search for this one. Interesting - haven't EVER seen one of these come up for sale in the past three years. Where are all of them?

I was looking for one a year or two ago. I think I have seen 4-5 for sale between photo.net and FM since then. I really don't think many people know that it exists with the 20-35/3.5-4.5 being so popular.
