Getting URL for external linking?

What is the process for getting the URL to a full-sized (or, better, medium-sized) image so I can post a link (img-tag) externally?

Normally, I'd right-click and examine properties, but since I have right-click protection on, I can't do that (and I'm not sure that would be the right link).

I hope I don't have to turn off right-click protection, get the link, and then turn it back on, do I?

Turn on Easy Sharing in your gallery customiztion, and then when you click on "share photo" you'll see the following. If you don't wish to have the share photo link on your page, that's fine. The links will ALWAYS be the same, you can just change the photo number and -S, -M, -L.

Remember to have EXTERNAL LINKS turned ON for the gallery in question.

    Ouch!

That's worse than turning off right-click, as it's advertising the URLs for everyone to see! All they have to do is click the share link, click on the large picture, and right-click save to their heart's content.

I realize that when I post a link in a blog, anyone can follow it - but that's a known risk. Turning "easy share" on lets everyone see everything.

Is there a more secure (read: less easy for the casual surfer) way?

That's the caveat of using Easy Share. But it's a trick someone will have to find to be able to use.

What I use to protect my images is a combination of right click protection and limit the viewable image size to only the smallest one. Then even if they do use the links, they only get one image--the small one.

If they're that bent on stealing images, they're going to do it anyways, so they can have an image that will print as a crappy 4x6. rolleyes1.gif
