Not a lifetime first, but still a great honour and pleasure to meet this lady this morning (Lucanaus cervus, European stag beetle). Looks like she still has some of the party confetti on her head.

I'm not sure if I have ever seen a female.
We used to have the Lesser Stag Beetle breeding in our garden and I photographed one recently.
