Upload speeds from lightroom to SM (gateway timeout)

Is anyone else have very slow upload speeds and gateway time outs to smugmug from lightroom ? slow loading website also. Latest SM plugin in use. thinking it was a network problem at my end, but other site I use are loading fast and working fine.
