Then and Now

Photographers, I've observed, often shoot similar subjects or return to the same locations for photo shoots, I certainly do.
So, the purpose for this thread is to show essentially the same place, thing or person in different times or seasons, here are a couple of examples:
Deer Creek Canyon, Colorado in December 1971 and July 2020:
Here is the very same sunflower in summer and in winter:
What do you say? Is this subject worthy of merit or a quick death?

I do think continuing the thread is a great idea and one worthy of adding to this section. As long as the photos of the "before" are taken and copyright by the person posting and not taken or borrowed from the internet.

I know I should have a lot of Now & Then shots as I do frequent the same areas, especially when I lived next door to Yosemite. I just have to do some digging to get the same exact area. In the meantime, this is a poor excuse for a Now and Then, but I thought it fit the subject.
I believe this is called a Salt Cedar - a very invasive plant that increases surface soil salinity. There a very large one on a local road that changes dramatically throughout the year. Spring means bright pink, summer is green and Fall it displays a pumpkin orange. Not the best shots, but you'll get the idea. Unfortunately, I haven't bothered to get a shot in summer green. Maybe next year.

Thinking about Then and Now theme and looking for something that fit - I remembered Wally the Cavalier. From puppy to older dog, he still had a favorite sleeping position.

The first one I held my D300 at arms length and snapped the picture. It was a challenge to hold the camera out at that time. I could no longer hold a big camera out at arms length, so the second picture was taken using my cell phone. Not as good quality, but it is what it is. A lot has changed in 11 years!

Footbridge over the "low water side" door of the Wijnegem lock in the King Albert canal (January 2014)
And since all bridges over the King Albert canal are increased in height to allow an additional layer of containers to be taken on the barges this footbridge was replaced by a new one a bit higher up (Oktober 2020)

While renovating a house a nice historic painted sign was uncovered (sept 2021)
However when I passed it this month it was all covered with a new layer
What I understand of the newspaper articles about it there was a fight between the historic value of the painted sign and the building code regarding insulation the owner had to follow when renovating this house. As you can see the building code won

The coming month it will be undergoing a renovation, so in preparation it's now fully dressed down
