Yongnuo Twin Flash YN24EX

For Christmas I got a cheap twin flash unit which hopefully will help spread the light better especially with the home made diffusers.
There is little to get photos of just now, but I took a few last night to see if the light evened out - so I have a bit of experimenting over the next few weeks as subjects offer themselves up in the insect world... The diffusion is quite large and can get in the way a bit but I hope it will be worth it in time.
The 4 images are of the nose of our Bilbo Baggins Cat, strawberries in a dish from the fridge, an old screw and a rusty hinge...

Looking good Paul. I also have that flash (for about 1year) seems to work well. I have modified it so that I do not use the front fitting, that just got in the way too much for my style of hunting photography.

Thanks Brian.
Yes, the bulkiness is an issue that has to be worked around.
We need someone to design a slimline flash head and some diffusion ports that are at least half the size of these!

@Lord Vetinari What do you think to these Brian?

Would the heads work well with this type of extension arms?

I did buy that about 3 or four years ago and it is garbage, to give the plastic articulation some strength they inserted a very soft metal wire inside and it broke within a month
I'm sure I read somewhere that there had been some modifications but it's not expensive to try.

Sorry Paul only just noticed the question.
Must admit I was not convinced how well arms like that would work in the long term but I think Racketman on the POTN macro forum has been using one successfully.
My setup apparently will not fit on canon cameras with a built in flash.
