Buffer Zone

The State of Massachusetts has a "buffer zone law" which was passed to prevent protesters from being too aggresive with women entering and leaving clinics which provide abortions.

The law was passed after a murder at this very Planned Parenthood Clinic more than 10 years ago.

References: Google for "Massachusetts buffer law" or "Planned Parenthood Slavi" to read about the law and the murder, respectively.

[Weegee and Ginger both told me to go there and see what was going on. Not so much this afternoon. The woman is just a passerby. But I got some pointers about when there might be more happening there.]
If not now, when?

Actually, as I noted, she is just a passerby who happened into a shot I was composing. I won't take pictures of the women who are patients at this clinic. I consider that a violation of their privacy.

I know, I read your comment. But still, you know she sat down with some friends later and was like "this tall dude was taking photos outside the Planned Parenthood today.... ugh, those damn photographers!"

On a serious more related note, I knew about the buffer zone, but I didn't know they actually painted it down on the sidewalk/street.

Too bad there wasn't any action. Enough photographers could hide anyone going in, the photographers themselves could become the story, smile.

I honestly don't know if we have a buffer zone, neither do I know if there are any clinics here.

Most of what I hear about is collections of money and clothes for the mothers who are keeping their babies.

And it is mostly middle aged women doing that, collecting stuff I mean, so no story, no emotions, in that.

Interesting situation you have there, Rutt.

And I agree, you might have made that woman's day!

ginger (she should have known to walk inside the buffer zone at all times, smile ) That wouldn't work, would it............... she shouldn't have "covered" her face, looks .....suspicious! (Kind of weak for an emotion shot, but it is a start.)
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.
