A bit of winter colour

This is a colony of cup fungi that comes back each year. It is either Sarcoscypha austriaca or S. coccinea. - the scarlet elf cup or ruby elf cup. Almost impossible to tell without microscopic examination of the spores (unless Harold knows something better?). Whatever they are called, I think they are beautiful.
